Our Story

The Story of MED Count Clothing Collection

Late in 2008 the CEO of MED Count was diagnosed with Schizoaffective Disorder, this would drastically change his life in more ways than one. He went from taking normal over the counter medications to intense psychiatric medications that would try to improve his mental health and give him a sense of normality. Before his diagnosis, he served proudly in the United States Air Force for six years, until he was released on a medical discharge. He can relate all too well to the struggles of mental health patients because he has seen behind the walls of mental institutions and has been involved in their self-improvement programs. Initially he resisted the help from his family, friends and doctors, but all that changed in 2022 when he was hospitalized twice in the same year. He came to realize that he’s different than most people, and taking medication for mental health is nothing to be ashamed of. Everything needs maintenance, and when our material possessions break down they need to be replaced or repaired. Same goes for our minds. Those with mental illness don’t need to be replaced but repaired! Without them the world wouldn’t be full of creativity and color. They have made lasting contributions to society that still amaze the world to this today!

Leaving a lasting mark on the world is the reason why MED Count Clothing was created in the first place. We provide high quality clothes to include hats, hoodies and t-shirts because the mental health community deserves more than second rate service which we often receive, due to no fault of our own. We would like to replace the well overdue redesign of the green ribbon; that represents mental health, with our butterfly logo that more accurately represents the changes mental health patients go through to adapt to their environment.

Needless to say the CEO of MED Count Clothing Collection has changed into a beautiful butterfly through many adversities, but he’s learned to “make each day count” with the brand's positive and inspiring message to the mental health community. He appreciates any and all support. Thank you for reading his journey up until this point, and may you be inspired to keep “Making Every Day Count”
